In my practice, drawing and sculpture are very much intertwined. I make use of common elements to blur the frontiers between mediums, whilst allowing each to live separately. By making my drawing tools, I'm allowed to experiment in the sculptural sense. The main component I use is carbon, a fascinating material for its versatility and because it's importance in steel making. I often work with silver point as its mark is only visible through a chemical reaction. Framing my own work allows to give back the drawings to the sculptural realm.
